How to set AdSense ads.txt on Blogger

To set AdSense ads.txt on Blogger, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. In the top left corner, click the Down arrow and select the blog you want to set up the ads.txt file for.
  3. On the left-hand menu, click Settings.
  4. Under Settings, click Search preferences.
  5. Under Monetization, find Custom ads.txt and click Edit.
  6. Click Yes to enable custom ads.txt.
  7. Copy the following line and paste it into the text box:
google.com, pub-YOUR_PUBLISHER_ID, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Replace YOUR_PUBLISHER_ID with your AdSense publisher ID. You can find your publisher ID in your AdSense account. 8. Click Save settings.

Your ads.txt file is now set up.

Explanation of each line:

  • google.com: This is the domain name of Google AdSense.
  • pub-YOUR_PUBLISHER_ID: This is your AdSense publisher ID.
  • DIRECT: This indicates that you are authorizing Google AdSense to sell ads on your site directly.
  • f08c47fec0942fa0: This is a unique identifier that is generated by Google AdSense.

You can also add other ad networks to your ads.txt file, but you must add them on separate lines. For example, if you are using the ad network AdThrive, you would add the following line to your ads.txt file:

adthrive.com, pub-YOUR_ADTHRIVE_PUBLISHER_ID, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Replace YOUR_ADTHRIVE_PUBLISHER_ID with your AdThrive publisher ID.

Once you have added all of the ad networks that you want to authorize to sell ads on your site, save your ads.txt file. You may need to wait a few hours for your ads.txt file to be verified by Google AdSense. Once your ads.txt file is verified, Google AdSense will only show ads from the ad networks that are listed in your ads.txt file.

Why is it important to set up an ads.txt file?

An ads.txt file is a public text file that tells ad networks which companies are authorized to sell ads on your site. This helps to prevent counterfeit inventory from being presented to advertisers and protects your revenue.

If I don't set up an ads.txt file, what happens?

If you don't set up an ads.txt file, Google AdSense will still show ads on your site, but you may not be able to work with certain ad networks. Additionally, your ads may be less valuable to advertisers, which could reduce your revenue.
